William Deskins

William D. Deskins, age 60, of Davenport, Iowa, formerly of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Manor Care on Utica Ridge. Bill was born in 1951 in Jefferson City, to Hobart "Dusty" and Betty Deskins. He was united in marriage to Beverly Crane in 1987 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After graduation from high school, Bill received his Bachelors Degree from Culver Stockton College in Canton, in 1973. He then received his Masters Degree of Divinity from Texas Christian University in 1976 and was ordained the same year. After several years in the ministry, Bill went on to pursue other business interests. He worked with the Dunhill Company until 1986 at which time he started Deskins Technology until selling the business in 2004. Survivors include his daughter, Rachel Deskins of Davenport, Iowa; granddaughters, Grace, Mary, and Lilly; a brother, Bob (Alice) Deskins of Independence; step-son, Matthew Crane of Reno, Nevada; and a step-sister, Sherri Kross of Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly and Jersey Ridge in Davenport, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of expressions of sympathy, a memorial has been established in Bill's name.
