Herbert Alexander (Veteran)

Herbert Maurice Alexander, age 91, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, March 25, 2012, in Topeka, Kan. He was born December 17, 1920, in Trenton, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Alexander. He married Theo Manning in 1946, who preceded him in death. He later married Virginia Drury in 1978, who also preceded him in death. In 2004, he then married Jewell Ramage, who survives. He was retired from the United States Navy with the rank of Commander. He worked for Merrill Lynch Pierce Finner and Smith, from where he retired. He has two daughters: Connie Fowler, who preceded him in death, and Susan Herron of Ozawkie, Kan.; two step-children: David Drury of Gardner, Kan., and Cindy Buckman of Dallas, Texas; two siblings: Willis Alexander, who preceded him in death, and Martha Brewer who lives in Farmington, Conn.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church of Jefferson City, on Saturday, March 31 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation following the service.
