Mr. Paul K. Johnson, age 78 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the Villa Marie Nursing Center. Paul was born September 18, 1933, in Jefferson City, Mo., the son of Roy and Faye Shelton Johnson He was married on October 6, 1956, in Jefferson City, Mo., to Virginia L. Butler, who preceded him in death on January 21, 2007. A life long resident of the Jefferson City area, Paul graduated from Jefferson City High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Paul was employed with Busch's Florist for several years and later as an electrician with A.B.B. for 20 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and the Friends of Amtrak. Paul loved to decorate for Christmas, watching trains, and visiting Hawaii. Survivors include: three sons, Steve Johnson and his wife Sherry of Indianapolis, Ind., Kenneth Johnson and his wife Brenda of Jefferson City, Mo., and Roy Johnson of Jefferson City, Mo.; two sisters, Betty Hopen of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and Barbara Hiatte and her husband Don of New Bloomfield, Mo.; five grandchildren, Keenan Johnson, Blair Johnson, Cassie Johnson, Travis Johnson, and Jason Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter, Pamela S. Johnson; and two brothers, Carl Johnson and Robert Johnson. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Reverend Shane Crum officiating. Graveside services and interment with military honors will be conducted at Riverview Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the charity of their choice.
