James Fredrick Brauner

James Fredrick Brauner, 74, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Oak Tree Villas surrounded by his family. He was born on September 21, 1937, in Jefferson City, Mo., the son of the late Christopher James and Emma Helen Gangwish Brauner. He attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School and St. Peter High School. He was united in marriage on June 28, 1958, in Jefferson City, to E. Faye Foster who preceded him in death on February 21, 1993. On August 17, 2002, in Lohman, he married Judith Ann Knernschield who resides at the home. James served with the Missouri National Guard from 1954-1957. James started working for Obermans, then as a route driver for Gold Cup Bakery until 1965. He then started working for Roy Scheperle Construction from 1965-1978. Then United HRB Construction from 1978-1995. After retiring he worked for Scholastic Inc., then International Blends Coffee & Vending as a route driver part time. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Laborers Local Union No. 662, and Fraternal Order Eagles Aerie 2693. James enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, playing cards with his family, spending time with his family, and the St. Louis Cardinals. Other survivors include: three children, Gregory (Lori) Brauner; Janet (Bill) Kirkweg; Michael (Amy) Brauner, all of Jefferson City; two step-daughters, Julie (Steve) Stone; Jeanne Luadzers (Jules Smith) both of Jefferson City; nine grandchildren, Christopher Kirkweg, Lindsey Kirkweg, Bryan Kirkweg, Ashley Brauner, Dylan Brauner, Emily Brauner, Logan Brauner, Carson Brauner, Maggie Faye Brauner; seven step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; four siblings, Robert (Sharon) Brauner, Jefferson City; Donald (Viola) Brauner, Harlingen, Tx; Pauline Herman, Centertown; Frances (Lonnie) Giboney, Fulton; and three in-laws, Bonnie Brauner, St. Martins; Virginia (Sam) Bayne, St. Martins, and Hilton (Melba) Knernschield, Jefferson City. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Brauner. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Dylan Schrader, officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:30-7 p.m. Tuesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 2413 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City, MO 65109.
