Cecil Edward Ousley, age 81, of Russellville, died Friday, July 27, 2012, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born July 21, 1931, in Callaway County, a son of William Walker "Dub" and Alice Mae Holiday Ousley. Cecil was united in marriage to Peggy J. Fisher on July 4, 1954, in Jefferson City. Peggy survives at their home. He retired from MoDot in 1988 after 35 years of employment. Cecil was a longtime, faithful member of the Cole Springs Baptist Church in Russellville, where he served as a deacon. He was a founding member of the United Sportsman Club in Jefferson City, a member of the NRA and the MoDot Retirees Association. He kept busy building muzzle loaders, gun smithing, travel, music, fishing and hunting. However, his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with friends and family. In addition to his wife of 58 years, he is survived by three daughters, Kathleen (David) Knernschield of Jefferson City, Lisa (Steve) Bates of Russellville,and Stacy Ousley of Florida; eight siblings, Verna Mae James of Jefferson City, W.H. "Bill" Ousley of Holts Summit, Bonnie Kemna of Indiana, Shirley Jean Sweeten of New Bloomfield, Lloyd Wayne Ousley of Jefferson City, Linda Gail Ingram of Texas, Glinda Darlene Jurgle and Diana Sue Prenger, both of Jefferson City, along many with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dorris Dean Ousley. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 30, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville, with friends received from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Bro. Mike Hearst will officiate. Interment will be in the Enloe Cemetery, west of Russellville. Memorial contributions are suggested to Cole Springs Baptist Church or Mo. Baptist Children's Home. www.scrivner-morrow.com
