Anna Lorene Curtman Farmer

Anna Lorene Curtman Farmer, age 90 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Capital Region Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 25, 1922, in Maries County, Mo., to the late Elmer and Maud Branson Curtman, and was the youngest of eight children. On June 23, 1941, she was united in marriage to Roy W. Farmer, who preceded her in death on August 5, 1994. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Lorene attended Taft School in Maries County, Mo. She was employed by the Missouri Department of Revenue, Motor Vehicle Division, for 24 years, retiring in 1989. Lorene enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her two great-granddaughters, and preparing family meals for holiday gatherings. She also enjoyed cooking and baking, gardening (flowers and vegetables) and sharing her produce with family and friends. As a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, she assisted with church meals and was always willing to help with additional work at the church. Survivors include: one daughter, Carolyn (C. Robert) Belden of Kirkwood, Mo.; one son, Paul (Donna) Farmer of Jefferson City, Mo.; two grandchildren, Travis Farmer and Christine (Jason) Reimund; and two great-granddaughters, Kenzie and Jillian Farmer. Others cherishing her memories are nieces and nephews, along with their families, cousins, and friends. Also preceding her in death were seven siblings and spouses: Mabel (Alman) Rowden, Mae (Fred) Vankirk, Gladys (Austin) Goodman, Mayme (Erle) West, Ethel (Harry) Freeman, Floyd (Josephine) Curtman, and Clyde (Lorene) Curtman. Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., today, Friday, July 27, 2012. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Credille officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Enloe Cemetery, Russellville, Mo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 4930 Old Lohman Rd., Jefferson City, MO 65109.
