Dr. Robert L. Johnston

Dr. Robert L. Johnston, age 65 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at his home. Bob was born April 10, 1947, in Marion County, Mo., the son of William L. and Rosemary Morrison Johnston. He was a 1965 graduate of Webster Groves High School, Webster Groves, Mo. and a 1969 graduate of Drury College, Springfield, Mo. where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Dentistry on May 12, 1973 as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. He received a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry on July 20, 1987. Bob began practicing dentistry in Jefferson City in 1973 and practiced one day a week in St. Elizabeth, Mo. for several years. He was a member of the Missouri Dental Assn. and a past member of the Masonic Lodge. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, hand carving, reading, and genealogy. Survivors include: one daughter, Katherine Johnston and her husband Jeffrey Hotz of Bethlehem, Pa.; one son, Charles Johnston of St. Charles, Mo.; and one granddaughter, Anne Hotz. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 21, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 21, 2012, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Doyle Sager officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery.
