Richard C. "Dick" McCann, 87, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012, in Kingwood, Texas. A World War II veteran and graduate of Cornell University, he worked for Westinghouse Corporation in Sharon, Pennsylvania and Jefferson City, Missouri. After retiring he and his wife spent the winters in Venice, Florida. He was an active member of the Presbyterian Church throughout his life. He was the beloved husband of Jacquelyn, nee Brown, for 62 years; loving father of Marjory (the late Michael) Oliker, Richard J. (Toni), James A., and Robert C. (Risa) McCann; cherished grandfather of Eugene (Marcella), Robert (Julia Palmer) Coffey, Cathi Coffey Veach, Jon (Becky), Elizabeth (Rich) Kerian, Lance, Andrew (Henriette), and Max; proud great-grandfather of 12 great- grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren. A beloved great-grandson, Corbin McCann, preceded him in death. A memorial service was held on January 23 at the First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood. A memorial service in Jefferson City will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Mended Hearts or the Salvation Army.
