Margaret Ann Bode, 95, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, February 23, 2012, at St. Joseph Bluffs. She was born on October 23, 1916, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Joseph and Edith DeBroeck Roling. She was united in marriage on September 2, 1935, in Wardsville, to Cletus Bernard Bode, who preceded her in death on November 27, 2005. Margaret Ann worked for Tweedie Shoe Factory in her early years and later became a homemaker. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Ann's Sodality, Legion of Mary, and the quilters club at Immaculate Conception. Margaret Ann and Cletus were communion ministers who brought holy communion to local nursing homes weekly for many years. She also helped on funeral luncheons at the church and volunteered at Immaculate Conception Catholic School. Margaret Ann loved working with her hands to quilt and sew, spend time working in her garden, cook and bake for everyone that would come to her home, and most especially, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margaret Ann made friends whereever she was and will be sadly missed by her friends at Oak Tree Villas and St. Joseph Bluffs. Survivors include: three children, Edward "Joe" (Dianne) Bode, Sedalia; M. Janet Evers, Jefferson City; Jean (Nelson) Brandt, Chamois; seven grandchildren, Stephen Bode, Sarah Eisenmenger, Matthew Evers, Tim Evers, Becky Adler, Richard Brandt, Randy Brandt; and six great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Ahlmeyer; and three brothers, Ralph, Bob, and Bill Roling. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Monday, February 27, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. David D. Cox officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:30-5 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 2 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic School Endowment Fund, 1208 E.
