Nancy Zumbehl

Nancy Kay Helen Zumbehl, 66, of New Bloomfield, died Monday, January 30, 2012, at her residence. She was born on February 5, 1945, in St. Charles, Mo., the daughter of the late Richard Harold and Helen Caroline Banze Berlekamp. She was a 1963 graduate of Francis Howell High School in St. Charles. Nancy was baptized and confirmed at Friedens Church in St. Charles. She was united in marriage on August 17, 1963, in St. Charles, to Ralph Howard Zumbehl who resides at the home. Nancy began working with the Missouri Department of Family Services as a clerk for the Child Abuse Hotline. She then became a case worker for Callaway County Division of Family Services. Nancy also was a case manager and later as a supervisor with the Futures Program of DFS. After her work with Futures, Nancy was a welfare reform coordinator with DFS and finished her career as a DFS manager of Cole and Osage County DFS. She was a member of Central United Church of Christ. Other survivors include: two children, Todd (Tammy) Zumbehl, New Bloomfield; Amy (Bernie) Nadler, New Bloomfield; four grandchildren, Miranda Zumbehl, Justus Zumbehl, Eli Nadler, Luke Nadler; her twin brother, David (Cindy) Berlekamp, Bellflower, Mo.; her sister, Connie (Keith) Burnham, Columbia, Mo.; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and her beloved dog, Phoebe. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2012, at Central United Church of Christ with Rev. Dr. Stephen H. Buchholz, officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, February 2, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church.
