Mrs. Geraldine J. Boyce, age 77 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Friday, December 28, 2012, at the Capital Region Medical Center. Gerry was born February 1, 1935, in Hawkeye, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Mildred Paul Nuss. A resident of Jefferson City for most of her life, Gerry was a 1953 graduate of Hawkeye High School, Hawkeye, Iowa. Gerry worked hard her entire life and was employed as an EEG Technician with Charles E. Still Hospital for 30 years. She cherished her time at the hospital because of the caring relationships she formed with her patients and co-workers. She later retired from Florsheim Footwear Factory after several years. Gerry was a warm and fun loving person who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Gerry's house was always filled with love, laughter, and music. She always wanted to be around people and there was never a dull moment when she was in the room. She was also an avid sports fan, especially watching Missouri Tiger basketball, and enjoyed traveling in her younger years. Survivors include: one son, Michael "Opie" Boyce of Jefferson City, Mo.; two daughters, Kim Boyce Mahin and her husband Russell of Staunton, Ill., and Laurie Boyce Peters of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, Paul Nuss and his wife Jean of Hawkeye, Iowa; one sister, Kathleen Kirby and her husband Jack of Wichita, Kan.; 10 grandchildren, Erin Kliethermes and her husband Mike, Vanessa Stuckenschneider and her husband Eric, Amanda Keilholz and her husband Gabe, Brittany Daniels and her husband C.J., Morgan Bilek, Michael Boyce Jr., Jessica Mahin, Kortnie Kempker and her husband Dylan, Carter Peters, and Jake Mahin; and two great-grandchildren, Colin Stucken and Annabelle Kempker. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Dean Nuss; and one daughter, Sharla Rae Boyce on June 12, 1992. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2013 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Shane Crum officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at Riverview Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.
