Ruby Light

Ruby Lucile (Higgins) Light, 90, of California, Mo., passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at California Care Center. She was born on November 14, 1921, in Centertown, the daughter of Archie and Della (Gouge) Higgins, both of whom preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Robert Wesley Light, on June 14, 1941, in California, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1974. She attended Rock Creek School and was later employed at Oberman & Co. in Jefferson City. She is survived by one son, Kevin (Lisa) Light of Centertown; one daughter-in-law Connie Light of California; five grandchildren, Ron (Jo) Light of Paris, Mo., Wesley (Kate) Light of Jefferson City, Beth, Jeremy and Shelby Light of Centertown; three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She is also survived by two sisters, Mary (Jerry) Kirchner, Dorothy (Bill) Larimore and one brother, Clifford (Teresa) Higgins, all of Centertown; one sister-in-law, Virginia Higgins of Centertown; also numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one son, Larry Light in 2009; two sisters, Pauline Allen and Georgia Bonine; one brother, Clarence Higgins; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery near Centertown. Officiating will be Mr. Jack Bowlin. Visitation will also be held on Sunday, April 22, 2012, from 12:30 p.m. ñ 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
