Hattie Anders

Hattie Marie Anders, 79, of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at University of Missouri hospital, quietly surrounded by her family. She was born April 13, 1933, in Franklin County, Texas to James and Hattie Adams. She and Gary Dale Anders were married in 1960 and moved to Tebbetts, in 1970. She grew up in Mt. Vernon, Texas, was a cheerleader and an active teenager in her home town. Her life was all about caring for others, raising a happy family and she served as Administrator in Nursing Homes for 25 years. She was always full of fun, enjoyed square dancing and making new friends. Survivors include: her husband of 52 years, Gary Dale Anders; her four sons, Tony, Barry, Gary and Mike Chambers; one brother, Russell Adams of Tyler, Texas; nine grandchildren, Bret, Nathan and Victoria Chambers, Shara Chambers, Megan Laird, Amanda Chambers, Holly Fitterer, Leslie Woods, and Keri Ballew; ten great- grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her brothers, Truman, Howard, and Calvin Adams, and Cleo Tinsley; sisters, Florie Byrd, and Martha Stephens. She was the youngest of eight children. Visitation is at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Parkade Baptist Church with a memorial service directly following at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkade Baptist Church Building Fund, 2102 North Garth, Columbia, MO.
