Samuel Buchanan (Veteran)

Samuel Ronald Buchanan, 64, of Holts Summit, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at Capital Region Medical Cener in Jefferson City. He was born June 7, 1947, in the state of Washington, the son of Samuel M. and Roberta (Crane) Buchanan. He was united in marriage to Belenda Cram in Callaway County on February 1, 1992. She survives of the home. Sam served in the Army and Army National Guard over the Armor Division in Shreveport, La., earning the rank of Sergeant. He was employed at Pop's Lawn and Garden. Sam loved race cars and raced in Shreveport and Texas. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. His greatest joy was his family and friends. Along with his wife, Belenda, Sam will be fondly remembered by his son, Bryan Buchanan and his wife Lori of Jefferson City; daughters, Pamela Johnson and husband Jeff of Brazito and Samantha Gerhardt and husband Jerry of Booneville; step-daughter, Lisa Wilson and husband Bill of St. Petersburg, Fla.; five grandchildren, Courtney Wilson, Lindley Buchanan, Brittany and Nicholas Johnson and Haileigh Gerhardt. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rebecka Reed; and step-son, Daren Cram. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 10, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Thomas Mustain officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 pm. until the time of service. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Summit Memorial Park in Holts Summit.
