Mr. George M. Pohlmann, age 75 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at his home. George was born January 15 1936, in Jefferson City, Mo., the son of Martin and Minnie Bleich Pohlmann. A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, George graduated from Jefferson City High School and the Jefferson City Junior College. He served in the United States Army from 1958 until 1960. George was employed with Capital Savings and Loan and later he was employed as a salesman with the American Tobacco Company for 18 years prior to his retirement in September, 1988. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed restoring old cars and watching NASCAR. Survivors include numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Reverend Russ Bowder officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
