Alice Ann M. Haslag, age 65, of Bonnots Mill, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at University Hospital in Columbia. Alice Ann was born January 15, 1946, in St. Louis, daughter to the late Joseph and Zoedell (Drees) Meier. Alice Ann graduated from St. Peter and Paul Catholic High School in Waterloo, Ill. She worked for 32 years for Von Hoffmann and five years for Missouri State Printing. On September 2, 1995, she was united in marriage to Donald J. Haslag Sr., in Loose Creek. He survives at their home. Alice Ann was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek and St. Ann's Sodality. Alice Ann was a huge NASCAR fan, especially driver Richard Petty. She and Don enjoyed going to the races and Alice Ann drove in the Richard Petty Driving School. She was an avid collector of mice collectibles and her favorite saying "you could always tell how the inside of a house looked by the way the outside looked". In addition to her husband, Alice Ann is survived by: one step-son, Donnie Haslag Jr. and his wife Debbie of Bonnots Mill; three step-daughters, Dianna Silvester and her husband David of Jefferson City, Darla Luebbert of Jefferson City and Debbie Jaegers and her husband Keith of Linn; one brother, John Meier and his wife Marie of Waterloo, Ill.; one sister-inlaw, JoAnn Meier of Waterloo, Ill.; 14 grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Meier; one step-son, Dennis Lee Haslag; and one son-in-law, Phil Luebbert. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2011, at Morton Chapel in Linn. A Prayer Service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek with Fr. I.C. Medina as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or School.
