Bryan K. Fawks, age 50, of Holts Summit, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2011, unexpectedly of a heart attack . Bryan was born June 13, 1961, in Kansas City. He attended Grandview High School in Grandview, and received his Master's Degree in Public Administration from Missouri State University in Springfield. After graduation, Bryan worked for many years in Missouri State government. Currently, he was teaching Political Science at Lincoln University in Jefferson City. Bryan loved the outdoors, discussing politics, spending time with his dog, and traveling to various Caribbean islands. Bryan is survived by his wife Amy and her two children, Audrey Barclay and Jackie Rufener, of Jefferson City; his brother, Eric Fawks and wife Pat, Lenexa, Kan.; step-sister, Kathy Stigers, Olathe, Kan.; step-brother, James P. Harris, Little Rock, Ark.; several nieces and nephews; and his Golden Retriever, Sawyer. Bryan was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Bryant Harris; his father, Robert Fawks; his sister, Vanessa Barnard; and stepfather, James Harris. A celebration of life service will be 1 p.m., Friday, October 7, 2011, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter, 919 East Miller Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101, to help build a new shelter.
