Faye Athalia Barry, 90, of California, passed away Friday, November 18, 2011, at California Care Center. She was born on July 27, 1921, southeast of Latham, the daughter of Jesse Franklin and Orpha (Miller) Engelbrecht, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married in California to William Oralee Barry, who preceded her in death on May 15, 2008. Faye was a Latham High School graduate. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of First Baptist Church in California. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Sterling and husband Mike of California, and Lana Lawson of California; five grandchildren, Kim Silvey and husband Dale of California, Kelly Sterling of Hilton Head, S.C., Jason Lawson and wife Stephanie of California, Bryan Lawson and wife Becky of California, and Jennifer Porter and husband Landon of California; nine great-grandchildren, Tyler Silvey, Dylan Silvey, Myra Silvey, Gavin Porter, Lainey Porter, Kierstyn Lawson, Jana Lawson, Corbin Lawson and Kinsley Lawson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo Engelbrecht and Neil Engelbrecht; and one son-in-law, Jim Lawson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in California. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery near Latham. Officiating will be Rev. Greg Morrow. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 208 S. Oak Street, California, MO 65018. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.
