Lynn McKee, 63, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born August 28, 1947, in Colorado, the son of Thomas Elmo McKee and Elizabeth McKee Puckett. He was married on August 13, 1977, to Carol Scheulen, who survives at their home. Lynn graduated from Southwest Oklahoma State University. He went on to get his MBA from the University of Missouri. He was a member of the United States Army Reserve. Lynn was employed with the State of Missouri in the Office of Administration for more than 30 years. He was Past President of the Jefferson City High School Football Boosters and volunteered with the Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau Athletic Events Committee. He was an avid sports fan, and loved golf, doing yard work, household projects and doing community service. Lynn attended the Cathedral of St. Joseph for over 30 years. He always brought laughter to everyone he met. Lynn was a loving father, and is survived by one son: Tom McKee (wife Amanda) of Jefferson City; one daughter: Dawn Howd (husband Walt) of Kirksville; his mother: Elizabeth McKee Puckett of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one brother: Thomas McKee (wife Jana) of Littleton, Colo.; two sisters: Lou Cunningham (husband David) of Mustang, Okla., and Jo Greene (husband Al) of Blue Springs; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of great friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Thomas Elmo McKee; and his step-father: Blaine Puckett. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 14, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with a prayer service to be held at 3:30 p.m. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, with Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Samaritan Center, Habitat for Humanity or the Jefferson City High School Football Boosters.
