Johanna Brunnert

Johanna Brunnert, age 74, of Argyle, departed this life Sunday, June 19, 2011, in Westphalia Hills, Westphalia. She had been in failing health for some time. She was born June 23, 1936, at Argyle, in Osage County, a daughter of Philip Joseph and Regina Frances (Luebbert) Brunnert. She was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Argyle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8045. Johanna had been employed during her working life in secretarial work for the Missouri Bureau for the Blind and Business Opportunities for the Blind, Jefferson City, for 43 years retiring on April 2, 1997. Those left to mourn the passing of Johanna include: three brothers, Charles Brunnert, West Point, Nebraska, Eugene "Gene" Brunnert and wife Elaine, Cheyenne, Oklahoma, and Edwin "Ed" Brunnert, Argyle; one sister, Dolores Brunnert, Thornton, Colorado; two sisters-in-law, Mary Brunnert, Watonga, Oklahoma, and Katie Brunnert, Argyle; six nephews and nieces; nine great-nephews and nieces; and many other relative and friends. Johanna was preceded in death by her father on October 14, 1968; her mother on February 25, 1982; four brothers, William Brunnert on July 12, 1974, Louis J. "Cotton" Brunnert on August 29, 2000, Benno Brunnert on March 24, 2004 and Joseph George "Joe" Brunnert on June 20, 2010; four sisters-in-law, Marjorie Brunnert, Margaret Brunnert, Freda Brunnert, and LaVon Brunnert; and one nephew, Philip Brunnert. Funeral services under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes will be conducted for Johanna at 10 a.m., Friday, June 24, 2011, in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle, with the Rev. Msgr. Marion J. Makarewicz officiating. Interment will be in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Argyle. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2011, and 9 - 10 a.m., Friday, June 24, 2011, in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle. The Argyle Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Memorial Service will be at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2011, followed by a prayer service led by the Rev. Msgr. Marion J. Makarewizc. Masses are preferred by the family with envelopes available at St. Aloysius Church or the Vienna Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
