Belva Hackman

Belva Lee Hackman, 73, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 24, 1938, in Jefferson City, Missouri, a daughter of the late Orval O. and Dorothy (Kleindienst) Gibler. On January 30, 1960, Belva was united in marriage to Kenneth R. Hackman, who survives at their home. Belva worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue for seventeen years. She also was a housewife and babysitter at her home. She attended St. Peter Catholic Church. Belva enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing cards, and loved going for rides and watching trains. She also enjoyed working with train layout with her husband. Along with her husband Kenneth, Belva is also survived by two daughters: Robin J. Payne (husband Kenny) of Jefferson City; Sandra "Sandy" L. Talken (husband Andrew) of Jefferson City; two sons: Steve Ray Hackman (wife Lisa) of Bellevue, Nebraska; Randy Hackman of Jefferson City; one sister: Shelby Jean Loethen-Brown of Jefferson City; two sisters-in-law: Jean Gibler of Jefferson City; Pat Prenger of Valdosta, Georgia; eight grandchildren: Jason Payne, Amber Kreutz, Whitney Talken, Shayna Sinor, Derek Hackman, Alison Hackman, Veronica Hackman, Kenna Hackman; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: William R. Gibler and Donald E. Gibler; and a granddaughter: Amanda L. Payne. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with Deacon Al Brand officiating. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Lung Association or SSM Hospice.
