Catherine B. Koenig

Catherine B. Koenig, 88, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, June 10, 2011, at St. Mary's Health Center. She was born December 2, 1922 in Linn, the daughter of the late Edward and Bertha (Berhorst) Voss. On March 6, 1943, she was united in marriage to Quentin Koenig, who preceded her in death on March 19, 1984. Catherine attended Linn Elementary schools through the eighth grade. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Peter's Catholic Church, the Helping Heart Club of St. Peter's Church, and the Lady's Sodality of St. Peter's Church. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, embroidering, gardening, working with flowers and BINGO. She is survived by one son: Kenneth Koenig of Jefferson City; two daughters: Linda Schmitz (husband Gerhard) of Westphalia, and Sandra Wishon (husband Steve) of Jefferson City; one brother: James Voss of Florissant; one sister: Dorothy Bock of Westphalia; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great- grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, one great- granddaughter, two brothers and one sister. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 13, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Father Basil Eruo officiating. Interment will follow in St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church or St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
