Nadene Bernice Wilson Cliburn, age 90, of Centertown, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center. She was born October 6, 1920, in Cole Camp, a daughter of Mike and Edith Francis Crawford Wilson. Nadene was united in marriage to Charles Bernard "C.B." Cliburn on June 9, 1940, in Syracuse, and he preceded her in death April 28, 2003. She was a graduate of Centertown High School. Nadene was employed for many years with P.N. Hirsch Department Store in Jefferson City. She was a member of the Centertown Baptist Church, the Parent-Teachers Association and the Centertown Womenís Club. Nadene was an accomplished vocalist, singing in a womenís high school quartet, which won a national competition in 1938. Survivors include three sons, Charles Dean Cliburn of Jefferson City, Cecil Wayne (Becky) Cliburn of St. Martins and Robert Lee (Timmie) Cliburn of California; one daughter, Brenda (Dennis) Scheperle of Russellville; one sister, Neville Anderson of Centertown; seven grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert S. Wilson and Mike Wilson Jr.; one sister, Irma Maxine Siegel; and a granddaughter, Jessica Lee Cliburn Denich. Funeral services will be 12 noon, Wednesday, July 20, at the Centertown Baptist Church, with Rev. Roy Barnard officiating. Interment will be in the Centertown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Centertown Cemetery Association.
