Lawrence Jenkins

Lawrence Edward "Red" Jenkins, age 69, passed Saturday, July 9, 2011, on their farm in Callaway County. He was born February 11, 1942, to Alma May (Sanders) and Lawrence Jenkins in Cedar City, Mo. He married the love of his life, Sherry Janice Wolking on September 28, 1962, at the Carrington Baptist Church in Carrington, Mo. Edward retired from the City of Fulton Power Plant, October, 1999, with 32 years of service. Edward was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a very caring and giving man. He loved coffee, food and friendship at the Wright Brothers Store in Calwood, Mo. He enjoyed the simple things in life; nature, being outdoors, hunting, fishing, mowing, taking care of the farm and enjoying life. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Janice Jenkins; children, Sherry Sue Jenkins, Sarah Lou (Tom) Schaefer, Lawrence Edward Jenkins Jr., and Sandra Elaine (Jimmy) Coffman; nine grandchildren, Sheena Maria Love, Stephanie Joe Love, Samantha Anne Schaefer, Michael Edward Jenkins, Jennifer Louise Jenkins, Ashley Dawn Coffman, Derek Jacob Arrowood, Jaynie Lee Coffman and Justin Layne Coffman; cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alma and Lawrence Jenkins; siblings, Frances Kemp, Betty Etter and Lonnie Jenkins, and infant granddaughter, Janice Mae Jenkins-Epperson. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, Missouri, with Reverend Larry Paris officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, Missouri. Interment will be held at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SERVE Food Pantry, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, Missouri 65251.
