Catherine R. Kliethermes, 69, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2011, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born October 25, 1941, to Richard and Katie Schulte at home in Mary's Home. On July 6, 1963, she was married to William (Bill) Kliethermes. She was beloved by family and friends. She was the best wife, mother and grandmother anyone could have. Her grace, humor and positive attitude throughout her life and especially during her illness will always be remembered. Making quilts, sewing and crafts were her passion. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her eight grandchildren. Surviving family members are her husband, Bill Kliethermes; one son, Craig (Kim) Kliethermes of Peoria, Illinois; two daughters, Darla (John) Hull and Marla (Chris) Witthar of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Kyle and Connor Kliethermes, Creed, Kate and Truly Hull and London, Kaitlyn and Ashlyn Witthar; five brothers, Marvin (Helen) Schulte of Amarillo, Texas, Pat (Betty) Schulte and Melvin (Dolores) Schulte of Jefferson City, James (MaryAlice) Schulte of Henley, and RJ (Gloria) Schulte of Edmund, Oklahoma; and two sisters, Dorothy Mae (Fred) Lueckenhoff of Jefferson City, and Patsy (Giles) Bax of St. Petersburg, Florida; sister-in- law, Carol (Dave) Hampton of Webster Groves. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Katie Schulte; sisters, Janice Ann and Alice Marie Schulte and Marcella Kish. Visitation to be held at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary's Home today, July 6, 2011, from 4-8 p.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary's Home. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research; Springfield Catholic Schools; or Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church.
