Mrs. Beverly F. Koffkey, age 67 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Monday, January 24, 2011, at the Landmark Hospital, Columbia, Mo., after a lengthy illness. Beverly was born September 4, 1943, in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of Emory and Nellie Guyer Phelps. She was married in May 1966 in Jefferson City, Mo., to Roy Koffkey, who preceded her in death. A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Beverly attended St. Peter School and the Jefferson City Public Schools. She was employed at Cargill's in California, Mo., McGraw-Edison Company, Shopsmith, and later retired from Deville Hotel. Beverly enjoyed fishing, traveling to Las Vegas, and playing computer games. Survivors include: one son, Charles S. "Chuck" Phelps of Jefferson City, Mo.; one daughter, Nellie Roseann Boehm and her husband Clarence J. "Butch" Boehm Jr. of Jefferson City, Mo.; her twin brother, Robert W. Phelps and his wife Gloria of Jefferson City, Mo.; and three grandchildren, Kristi Phelps, Kyle Phelps, and Jennifer Boehm. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Delores Zimmerman; and one brother, Wilbur W. "Bill" Phelps. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 28, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Freeman Chapel. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Assn.
