Dorwin James (Veteran)

Dorwin A. James, 86, of Desloge, Mo., passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at Country Meadows Nursing Home. He was born August 12, 1924, in Hagarville, Arkansas to Chester A. James and Walice (Rutledge) James. Dorwin served in the Navy and worked for the Highway Patrol. He was a past city alderman of Desloge, a deacon at First Baptist Church of Desloge, and member of Elvins Ionic Lodge #154. He is survived by two sons, Jim James and wife Joy of Desloge and Jerry James and wife Connie of Jefferson City; daughter, Libby James of Desloge; six grandchildren, Christine (Mrs. Lance) Langford, Brian James and wife Nikki, Jodie (Mrs. Tom) Waite, Jennifer Connor, Megan Connor, and Evan Connor; 11 great-grandchildren, Andrew, Denver, Taylor, Grayson, Braden, Kaitlinn, Carson, Tanner, Elizabeth, Chandler, and Sara; brother, Lawton James and wife Virginia, and sister, Wanda Mahan of Michigan. He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester A. James and Walice (Rutledge) James, his wife, Ruth E. (Baird) James, four sisters, Doris Wren, Ethelyn James, Billie Dale, and Aral Reynolds, and brother R.B. James. Visitation is Friday, January 21, from 4 to 8 p.m. at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Services will be Saturday, January 22, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Desloge with Pastor Bradford Laubinger and Reverend Jim Burns officiating. Interment will be at Parkview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels or the First Baptist Church of Desloge Community Center.
