Mary Lee Sidebottom, 63, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, January 17, 2011, at St. Mary's Health Center. She was born November 10, 1947, in Hannibal, a daughter of George William and Velma Irene (Herren) Bush. She was a 1965 graduate of Jefferson City High School. On June 11, 1970, Mary was united in marriage in Jefferson City, to Robert Sidebottom, who survives at their home. Mary had worked for various businesses in Jefferson City. For over 20 years she was a hostess and cook for the Jefferson City Public Schools, working at West and Belair Elementary Schools, until her retirement in 2010. She enjoyed playing bingo, cross stitching, and reading James Patterson books, but her greatest enjoyment was spending time and playing with her grandchildren. Other survivors include three children, Christopher Michael Sidebottom of Jefferson City, Thomas J. Gilbert Sidebottom and companion Virginia Wisnewski of Holts Summit, Mollie Michelle Rackers and husband Andrew of Holts Summit; seven grandchildren, Johnathon Robert Sidebottom, Travis Edward Sidebottom, Matthew Lee Sidebottom, Leslie Marie Nicole Ramey, Kimberlie Renee Rackers, Hunter Owen Sidebottom, Andrew M. Rackers Jr.; and five siblings, Rayla Garlick and husband Richard of Plymouth, Ill., Judy Moyer and husband Bob of Raymore, Jim Bush of Mexico, Sharon Lane and companion Rick Nilges of Hartsburg, Becky Heard of Jefferson City; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one grandson, Joseph William Rackers. Friends will be received from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Tom Shands officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Mary Lee Sidebottom Grandchildren's Educational Fund.
