Ellawies Henderson

Ellawies R. Henderson (nee Barton), 84, of Jefferson City, formerly of Warrenton, passed away Friday, February 18, 2011, at her home. She was born October 2, 1926, in Buick, the daughter of Willis and Lydia Barton, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 29, 1946, she was united in marriage to Robert Henderson. He preceded her in death in June 2006. She was an excellent waitress at Isabelle's Restaurant in Warrenton, retiring after 24 years of dedicated service. She was employed as a greeter at Walmart in Warrenton, and Jefferson City, with a total of 15 years of service. She enjoyed handing out smiley face stickers to all the children. Her favorite hobby was finding four leaf clovers on her walks and sharing them with everyone she met. Most of all, she loved to spend time with family and spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Floyd of Jefferson City and Ricky and his wife Jan of Burk Burnett, Texas; five brothers, Ovie Barton and wife Lois of Fulton, Virgil Barton and wife Anna of Jonesburg, Bobby Barton of Truesdale, Ronald and wife Susie of Wright City, and Larry Barton and wife Nancy of Wellsville; three sisters, Geneva Reel and husband John of Pendleton, Louise Reel and husband Sam of Warrenton, and Wilma Kelling and husband Pat of Fulton; eight grandchildren, Kimberlee Barber and husband Corry Beck of Jefferson City, Bob Henderson and wife Jessica of Clermont, Fla., Ricky J. Henderson II and wife Rose of Carthage, Tenn., Johnny Henderson of Warrenton, and Bret Henderson of Burk Burnett, Texas; eight great-grandchildren, Justin Farley, Joshua Chappell, Cheyenne Barber and Dakota Beck, all of Jefferson City, and Jordyn Henderson of Clermont, Fla. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; one daughter, Mary Lou; two sisters, Daphine and Ruth Ann; two brothers, Billy and Norman; and two granddaughters. A private service was held Monday, February 21, 2011, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton, with graveside services immediately following in McCredie Cemetery.
