Sophia Pardalos

Sophia Pardalos, 82, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, December 12, 2011, at University Hospital & Clinics in Columbia, Missouri. She was born February 17, 1929, in Methoni, Greece; a daughter of the late Athanasios and Anastasia Pantelis. On January 6, 1952, she was married in Methoni, Greece, to George J. Pardalos, who preceded her in death on December 24, 2005. Mrs. Pardalos was a homemaker. She was a member of Saint Luke the Evangelist Greek Orthodox Church in Columbia, Missouri. She was a huge soccer fan and enjoyed crocheting. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and traveling to Greece. She is survived by a son: John G. Pardalos (wife Nopi) of Jefferson City; two daughters: Venus G. Mastrogiannis (husband Alex) of Jefferson City and Ann G. Pardalos of Jefferson City; one brother: Paraskevas Pantelis (wife Despina) of Thessaloniki, Greece; one sister: Eleni Alekozidou of Thessaloniki, Greece; and four grandchildren: Ted Mastrogiannis, George Mastrogiannis, George Pardalos and Sophia Pardalos, all of Jefferson City; and numerous nephews and nieces. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 18, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with The Rev. Fr. Michael Monos officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that expressions of sympathy be made to Saint Luke the Evangelist Greek Orthodox Church, 1510 Audubon Road; Columbia, MO 65201.
