Blanche L. Plummer, 97, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, August 29, 2011, at Westphalia Hills Nursing Home in Westphalia, Missouri. She was born September 17, 1913, in Barnard, Missouri, a daughter of the late Charles W. and Leona A. (Morrison) Moore. She was a 1931 graduate of Burlington Junction High School in Burlington Junction, Missouri. On January 7, 1933, Blanche was united in marriage in Troy, Kansas, to Milfred Plummer, who preceded her in death in November 1991. Blanche was the Manager at Thrifty Shop in Jefferson City, which was a women's clothing store. She was a master seamstress, and loved to spend time with her family. She is survived by a son: David Plummer and his wife Barbara Pinney Plummer of Jefferson City; one daughter: Judy Stewart and her husband Bill Stewart of San Diego, California; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Leo Floyd Moore, Charles Moore, and Jacob W. Moore; and three sisters: Hazel Jenson, Lucille L. Cummins and Charline Pittsenbarger. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 1, 2011, at Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Compassus, 600 Monroe Street, Suite 100, Jefferson City, MO 65101; or a charity of the donor's choice.
