Darlene M. Niekamp

Darlene M. Niekamp, age 45, of Linn, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. Darlene was born May 1, 1966, in Jefferson City, a daughter to the late Clarence J. and Leonarda (Schaefer) Niekamp. Darlene was a graduate of Fatima High School and worked as a laundry attendant at Autumn Meadows Skilled Nursing Facility in Linn. Darlene was also a caretaker for her niece, Joann. Darlene was a member of St. George Catholic Church and was a volunteer at the Osage County Historical Society. She was an active member of Osage County Special Services. She enjoyed embroidering quilt blocks, reading, flowers, genealogy, and was a history buff. Darlene is survived by: two brothers, Don Niekamp and his fiancÈe Rhonda Neihart of Linn, and Dale Niekamp and his wife Sharon of Loose Creek; one sister, Dorothy Niekamp of Linn; two aunts, Eleanor Scheulen and Margaret Schaefer; one niece, Joann Niekamp; and two nephews, Steven and Danny Niekamp. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 22, 2011, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek with Fr. I.C. Medina as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Loose Creek. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Osage County Special Services.
