Helen A. Fischer, 92, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center. She was born September 27, 1918, in Cole County, the daughter of Elder C. and Ottillie Hirschman Jacobs, both deceased. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School at Honey Creek. On October 11, 1943, Helen was united in marriage at Honey Creek, to Orville E. Fischer, who preceded her in death on December 11, 1984. A lifelong resident of central Missouri, Helen was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Honey Creek, where she was baptized and confirmed. She was a member of 50 Plus. Helen and Orville owned and operated Fischer's Garage for 38 years. Survivors include one brother, Freddie Jacobs and wife Betty of Jefferson City; 11 nieces and nephews and numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 20, 2011, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Honey Creek, where funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Jeffrey A. Schanbacher officiating. Interment will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Immanuel Lutheran School.
