David E. Wunderlich

David E. Wunderlich, age 88, of Clinton, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at his home. David was born in Jefferson City, Missouri, the son of Edwin G. and Anastasia Lutkewitte Wunderlich. He was a graduate of St. Peter's High School in 1941. He was in the Naval Air Corp. He received a degree in Accounting from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri. He was married to Elizabeth Margaret Towry in 1944 and to this union five daughters were born. He worked for Rival Manufacturing for 41 years retiring in 1988. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a former member of Clinton Planning & Zoning Committee and was also a former North Kansas City City Councilman before moving to Clinton. He is survived by his wife, Betty of the home; five daughters, Liz (Don) Malkmus of Columbia, Missouri, Marge (Gary) Mathews of Goodyear, Arizona, Teresa (Ronald) Mathews and Becky (Bruce) Laughlin, all of Liberty, Missouri, and Beverly Cumpton of Clinton; one brother, Robert Wunderlich of McLean, Virginia; as well as nine grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 6, 2011, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Clinton, with burial in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton. Family will receive friends one hour before the service on Saturday at the church with a Rosary at 10:45 a.m. Family suggests contributions to Holy Rosary Catholic Church Building Fund or Twin Lakes Hospice and may be left at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton.
