Juanita Ruth Engelage

Juanita Ruth Engelage, 83, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, August 4, 2011, at Golden Living Center. She was born January 7, 1928, in Elston, Missouri, the daughter of Ira and Elizabeth Ecton Surface. She attended Elston and Jefferson City schools. Juanita worked in the Dietary Department of St. Mary's Health Center from 1971 until her retirement in 1993. She is survived by three children: Gary Engelage, Sharon Hibdon and Vicki Maness, all of Jefferson City; one brother, Robert Surface of Lohman; three grandchildren: Brent Maness, Matt Hibdon, Sara Culp; and two great- grandchildren: Genevieve Manness and Baby Culp. One brother, Albert Surface, preceded her in death. Friends will be received from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
