Helen M. Luper, 86, of Jefferson City, died Friday, November 26, 2010, at Adams Street Place. She was born August 7, 1924, in Jamestown, the daughter of Albert Edward and Selma (McDaniel) Aegerter. She attended Jamestown High School. On July 26, 1941, Helen was united in marriage in California to Cecil W. Luper, who preceded her in death on February 28, 2003. Helen was a jeweler for over 40 years, working for Tipton Jewelers, Lamb Jewelers and the Blue Diamond until the age of 75. She was an avid reader and a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Her favorite pasttimes were spending time with her family and taking scenic drives around mid-Missouri with Cecil and her pet poodle, Lady. She is survived by one daughter, Carol Ann Roark and husband Donald C. of Jefferson City; two granddaughters, Anastasia Roark of Santa Monica, California and Alexandra Skornia and husband Kent of Kirkwood; and three great-grandchildren, Blake, Mason and Caroline (Lanie) Skornia. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Aegerter and Edward Aegerter. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 with Rev. Richard Erhardt officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery in Jamestown. Expressions of sympathy may be made the Friends of the Jefferson City Animal Shelter, 919 E. Miller St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.
