Margaret K. Schmutzler, 94, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at Heisinger Bluffs. She was born December 31, 1915, in Cole County, a daughter of the late John A. and Elizabeth W. (Dippold) Schmutzler. She graduated from St. John's Lutheran School at Schubert. Margaret was a homemaker, and also worked for the George Rozier family for 54 years. She was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Schubert, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Ladies Aid. Margaret was also a member of the Trinity Evening Guild. She loved cooking and spending time with her family and extended church family. She is survived by three sisters: Anna Marie Schmutzler of Jefferson City, Emily (Mrs. Hillard) Niebruegge of Bunceton, and Lois Gerschefske (husband Arnold) of Linn; a sister-in-law: Leona (Mrs. Clarence) Schmutzler of Jefferson City; two boys that she helped raise and loved as her own: Jim Rozier and John Rozier of Jefferson City; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Clarence Schmutzler and Adolph Schmutzler. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church at Schubert. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 19, 2010, at St. John's Lutheran Church at Schubert, with Rev. Gerald Scheperle officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery at Schubert. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. John's Lutheran Church at Schubert, Calvary Lutheran High School, Heisinger Bluffs Endowment Fund, or a charity of the donor's choice.
