Margaret Schmutzler

Margaret K. Schmutzler, 94, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at Heisinger Bluffs. She was born December 31, 1915, in Cole County, a daughter of the late John A. and Elizabeth W. (Dippold) Schmutzler. She graduated from St. John's Lutheran School at Schubert. Margaret was a homemaker, and also worked for the George Rozier family for 54 years. She was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Schubert, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Ladies Aid. Margaret was also a member of the Trinity Evening Guild. She loved cooking and spending time with her family and extended church family. She is survived by three sisters: Anna Marie Schmutzler of Jefferson City, Emily (Mrs. Hillard) Niebruegge of Bunceton, and Lois Gerschefske (husband Arnold) of Linn; a sister-in-law: Leona (Mrs. Clarence) Schmutzler of Jefferson City; two boys that she helped raise and loved as her own: Jim Rozier and John Rozier of Jefferson City; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Clarence Schmutzler and Adolph Schmutzler. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church at Schubert. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 19, 2010, at St. John's Lutheran Church at Schubert, with Rev. Gerald Scheperle officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery at Schubert.
