Fred Schulte

Fred H. Schulte, 91, of Henley, died Monday, May 24, 2010, at his residence. He was born March 11, 1919, in Mary's Home, a son of Herman and Mary (Doerhoff) Schulte. He was married October 10, 1940, to Martha Agnes (Kempker) in Mary's Home, who survives at the home. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary's Home and a member of the Holy Name Society. He served on Our Lady of the Snows Parish Council, the old parish hall and school building committees. He was a founding member of the Our Lady of the Snows Credit Union. He owned and operated Fred Schulte Electric Company from 1968 until his retirement in 1980, and was a lifelong farmer. He was an avid raccoon, pheasant and quail hunter along with enjoying fishing for crappie. Along with his wife he is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Marilyn and Jerome Forck of Jefferson City and Margaret and Paul Oligschlaeger of Jefferson City; two sons and daughters-in-law: Ron and Flo Schulte of Henley and Gary and Pam Schulte of Henley; one son-in-law: Larry Luetkemeyer of Maryland Heights; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two siblings: Lois Motley of Mexico and Herman Schulte Jr. of Lee's Summit. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Marlene Luetkemeyer; a great-grandchild; brothers: Harold Schulte, Elmo Schulte and Otto Schulte; sisters: Viola Steenburgen, Augusta Kempker and Hilda Rephlo. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 27, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary's Home. The Rev. Greg Oligschlaeger and Rev. Patrick J. Shortt will be officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, at the church.
