Donald Renken

Donald Edmond Renken, 75, Battlefield, Mo., passed away Sunday, March 21, 2010, at his home. Donald was born September 18, 1934, in Enon, Missouri, the son of Edmond and Celeste Dawson Renken. On August 21, 1955, he was united in marriage to Lila Sue Spratt, who survives at the home. He is also survived by two sons, Larry Renken and Roger (Judy) Renken; four daughters, Karen Jackson, Kay (Kent) Williams, Kathy (George) Bryson, and Vicki Banks; two brothers, Gayle (Janet) Renken and Keith (Jill) Renken; four sisters, Frances Engelbrecht, Deloyce Barry, Elaine (Danny) Morris, and Janice (Clyde) Theroff; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Harold Barry and Curtis Engelbrecht. Don graduated from Russellville High School in 1951, Ozark Bible College, Joplin, Mo., in 1955. His ministry spanned 56 years during which he served Christian churches in Missouri, Kansas, and Oregon. July 1, 2009, Don retired from Phillipsburg Christian Church where he served as associate minister. Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Phillipsburg Christian Church with burial in the Enloe Cemetery near Russellville, Mo.
