Steven Cobb

Steven M. Cobb, age 60, of Eldon, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010. He was born in Springfield on November 27, 1949, a son of Robert and Emma Bell (Throne) Cobb. On June 24, 1972, in Forsyth, he was married to Abigail Ann Clotworthy, who survives at the home. Steve and Abbie were married 37 years and resided 35 of these years in Eldon. Steve was an avid golfer and very active in the Eldon Country Club. He was a member of Hickory Hill Masonic Lodge 211, Lake Ozark Shrine Club, Abou Ben Adhem Temple in Springfield, Eldon Kiwanis Club, the Miller County Nursing Home board and First Christian Church in Eldon. In 1999 Steve was awarded "Volunteer of the Year" by the Eldon Chamber of Commerce. He owned Clotworthy Insurance Agency for over 20 years and then merged in March 2003 with Naught-Naught Insurance Agency where he continued to serve the Eldon community. Others who survive him include: two children, Ty Cobb and wife Cindy of Lee's Summit, and Cayce Grote and husband Adam of Raymore; three grandchildren, Trezdon and Mackenzie Cobb, and Maklin Grote; and one brother Scott Cobb his wife Pattie and their two children of Pasadena, Texas. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, at the First Christian Church in Eldon. Rev. Shirley Williams will officiate.
