Robert Strange (Veteran)

Mr. Robert M. "Bob" Strange, age 62 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital, Columbia, Mo. Bob was born December 31, 1947, in Jefferson City, Mo., the 3Strange.jpgson of Robert L. and Grace M. Eveler Strange. He was married on June 8, 1968, in Jefferson City, Mo. to Linda S. Tripp. A life long resident of the Jefferson City area, Bob was a 1966 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict. Bob was employed with Missouri Power & Light, Berlin Wheeler, and in sales with a local cable company until ill health forced his retirement in 2001. Bob was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, Oliver Buehrle Post 17 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Roy Sone Post 1003. Bob was an accomplished musician who enjoyed playing drums for the Shades of Blue Band. He also loved fishing, woodworking, and collecting coins. Survivors include: his wife, Linda Strange; two sons, Chris Strange and his wife Lainie and Derrick Strange and his wife Tiffany; one brother, Harley Strange and his wife Teresa; one sister, Janelle Pratte, all of Jefferson City, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Patty Ott and her husband Palmer of Lohman, Mo.; three grandchildren, Trevor Strange, Lauren Strange, and Breanna Strange; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dennis Strange. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2010, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Patrick Adejoh officiating. Graveside services and interment with military honors will be conducted at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday.
