Dawn Ranee Nowack, 35, of Centertown, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2010, at the University of Missouri-Hospital and Clinics, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident while participating in a poker run for Tuff Mutts, a benefit for the Jefferson City Animal Shelter. Dawn always wanted to participate in events that would help animals. She was born October 27, 1974, in Columbia, a daughter of Jim Becker and Jerri Wilson. She was a 1992 graduate of Jamestown High School in Jamestown. On August 28, 2004, she was united in marriage in Eldon, to John Nowack, who survives at their home. Dawn was Vice-President of Field Services for Trusted Home Care. She enjoyed riding her horse Dillion, going on motorcycle trips, and caring for animals. Her life's passion was helping other people in need at home, and spending time with her family. At the end of Dawn's life here on earth, she was able to help five other people continue to live their life through organ donation. She is also survived by her mother: Jerri Wilson (Steven Laffoon) of Linn; her father: Jim Becker (wife Wanda) of Pilot Grove; a daughter: Corrie Evans of the home; step-son: Jacob Nowack of Jefferson City; two half-brothers: Travis Wade Becker of Pilot Grove and Shannon Becker of Fulton; one half-sister: Jamie Becker Nevins of Fulton; paternal grandparents: Bill and Mildred Becker of Armstrong; maternal grandmother: Pat Wilson Theiss of Clarksburg; mother-in-law: Jean Anderson of Freeburg; and step-father: John Weed of Omaha, Neb. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 2, 2010, at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with Rev. Danny Graham officiating. Dawn will be carried to her final resting place in a horse drawn carriage to Pointers Creek Cemetery near Linn, followed by her horse Dillion and her local motorcycle family. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Corrie Evans Educational Fund or the charity of the family's choice.
