Wayne Seaton (Veteran)

Wayne Thomas Seaton, 72, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, June 11, 2010, at his home. He was born April 15, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri, son of the late Archibald and Emily (Lindhorst) Seaton. He was a graduate of DeAndreis High School in St. Louis, and went on to earn both a Bachelor and Masters of Science in Commerce from St. Louis University. On September 9, 1961, Wayne was united in marriage in St. Louis, to Marilyn Devereaux, who survives at their home. Wayne worked for 24 years at the Missouri Department of Health, where he retired as Principal Assistant to the Director in 1999. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Wayne was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph. He enjoyed spending time with Ally and Alex, and watching Notre Dame Football with his son, Michael. He is also survived by a son: Michael Seaton (wife Suzanne) of Jefferson City; two grandchildren: Allyson Kate and Alex Michael Seaton. He was a dear brother-in-law of Jeri Devereaux, Darlene Feder (husband Steven), Michael Devereaux (wife Peggy), Denise Devereaux, and Bernie Scanlon. He was also a dear uncle, great-uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law: Daniel Devereaux, and sister-in-law: Lorraine Devereaux Scanlon. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 19, 2010, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, with Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki and Fr. Ignazio C. Medina officiating. Entombment with full military honors will follow at the Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum.
