Robert (Bob) Milton Yard, 65, of Jamestown, passed away on Monday, July 19, 2010, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital in Columbia. He was born on January 9, 1945, in California, the son of Kathryn Hodler Yard and Milton Yard, both of whom survive. Bob was married on February 24, 1995, to Debbie Higgins, who survives at their home in Jamestown. Bob was a lifelong resident of Jamestown. He attended Jamestown Schools. In 1966, he joined the United States Army, serving as E4 Army 2nd 75 ARTY from 1966-1972 in Germany. He was retired from Moniteau Ready Mix. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Jamestown and also a member of the NRA. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, and vacationing with family and friends. He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Ed and Maggie Hodler; and one infant brother, Billy Don Yard. Visitation will be today from 5:00 p.m. n 8:00 p.m. at the Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. Burial with full military honors will be in Grace United Methodist Cemetery in Jamestown. Officiating will be Rev. Janet Deneke. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak, California, MO 65018. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.
