Gracemary Gee

Mrs. Gracemary C. Gee, age 87 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at St. Josephs Home. Gracemary was born February 22, 1922 in Festus, Mo.. the daughter of John and Fern Booker Christy. She was married on February 1, 1945, in Clayton, Mo., to Donald M. Gee, who preceded her in death on June 15, 2004. On November 24, 2006, in Jefferson City, she married Ray Kastendieck, who survives. Gracemary graduated from Festus High School and the University of Missouri at Columbia. A homemaker, she has been a resident of the central Missouri area since 1979. She was active in Democratic politics in Bond County, Ill. and founded the Meals on Wheels in Greenville, Ill. Other survivors include: two daughters, Christy G. Carroll and her husband Michael of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Marybeth C. Ferry and her husband Randall of Jefferson City, Mo.; four grandchildren, Sean Carroll, Stephanie Carroll, Erin Carroll, and Meghan Ferry; one great- grandchild, Abby Carroll. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mayor John Christy and Fern Christy, and her husband, Donald M. Gee. A private family service was conducted.
