Kawanna and Kamira Jackson and Payne

Kawanna M. Jackson, 32, and Kamira Payne, 22 months, mother and daughter, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2009, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. The below picture of Kawanna and Kamira was taken on Christmas Day 2009, in Jefferson City. Kawanna was born October 31, 1977, in Detroit, Michigan, to Shelia M. Jones and Samuel L. Flemons, whom both preceded her in death. Kawanna Jackson had two children, Tyllyiss (TyTy) Jackson and Kamira (MyMy) Payne; three sisters, Sonia Flemons, Latonya Turner (Detroit, Michigan) and Felicia Williams (Kansas City, Missouri); and one brother Maston Keith Jones (Fort Wayne, Indiana). Kawanna Jackson leaves to mourn her, her husband, Frank Jackson and her son Tyllyiss Jackson; two sisters, one brother, one aunt, Diane Willis (Detroit, Michigan); two uncles, Laurice Phillips (Sedalia, Missouri), and Kaseem Phillips (Detroit, Michigan); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Kamira Payne was born on February 1, 2008, in Jefferson City, Missouri, at St. Mary's Hospital to Ira Payne and Kawanna Jackson. Kamira leaves to mourn her, her father Ira Payne Jr.; her brothers, Tyllyiss Jackson, Ira, Kennan, and Kareem Payne; and her sister, Payton Payne; grandmother, Ilester McRoberts and grandfather Ira Payne Sr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins. Kawanna was raised in Detroit, Michigan and lived with her aunt, Diane Willis, until the age of 16. Kawanna moved to Jefferson City in 1993 and attended Jefferson City High School before moving to Chicago, Illinois with her grandmother, Marie Vann, who also preceded her in death. Kawanna received her high school ciploma at Harlan High School in 1994. Kawanna moved back to Jefferson City in 1995 to be closer to family and friends. In May of 2005, Kawanna received her certificate as a medical assistant/phlebotomist at Metro Nursing School in Jefferson City, where she wanted to place all her affords and time with helping people who could not help themselves. She worked at Jefferson City Medical Group for two years before moving to Kansas City to work at Truman Medical Center. On the 26th day of December, 2009, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Kawanna Jackson, her daughter Kamira Payne, and son Tyllyiss Jackson were in a car accident. Tyllyiss, 8 years old, survived while Kawanna, 32 years, and Kamira, 22 months, were brought home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Kawanna, you may be gone, but you will never be forgotten. Kamira, like the loss of sunlight on a cloudy afternoon, you're gone too soon. We love you, may God Bless you both. Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2010, at the One in Christ Baptist Church, 900 Jefferson Street, Jefferson City, Missouri. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. Monday at the One in Christ Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at the Gethsemane Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan.
