Rita Voss

Rita Emma Voss, 89, of Owensville, Mo., passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2010, at the Gasconade Manor in Owensville. Rita was born in Americus, Mo. on February 15, 1921, to the late William and Sophie (Schroeder) Koenig. On May 11, 1946, in Starkenburg, she was united in marriage to Elmer Albert Voss. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville where she was a member and had served as president of Our Lady's Sodality, a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, the 4th Degree Ladies Auxiliary, and of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Her survivors include her sons, Joe Voss and wife Rhoda of Owensville, Clement Voss and wife Stephanie of Pacific; daughter, Gloria Jackson and husband William of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughter-in-law, Kay Voss of Cuba; sister, Sophie "Chick" Ruethers and husband Urban of Dutzow; grandchildren, Laurie Correll, Brian Jackson, Brad Voss, Wendy Randall, Jacob Voss, Amy Aubuchon, Julie Voss and Austin Voss; and 10 great-grandchildren and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; son, David Voss; brothers, Vincent, Quentin, Joe, Valarian and Edward; and sisters, Barbara, Loretta, Bernadine and Gertrude. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, August 16, at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville with Father Jeremy Secrist and Father Art Lueckenotto officiating. Burial was in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery. The family requests that memorial be to: Fr. Art's Mission work in Madagascar.
