Gale "Sue" Brandes, 61, of Ionia, passed away Monday, August 9, 2010, at her residence. She was born March 10, 1949, in California, the daughter of Ray and Alice (Bolinger) Milligan. She was a graduate of California High School, and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cole Camp. Sue was a "people person" and never met a stranger. She worked as a bookkeeper for Fischer's Concrete and thoroughly enjoyed her job. She loved her children and grandchildren and spending time with her family. She is survived by her mother, Alice Milligan of California; two sons, Chuck (Teresa) Brandes of Bunceton, Bobby (Tammy) Brandes, also of Bunceton; her companion, Mike Rambow of the home; two brothers, Dale (Vicki) Milligan and Russell (Donna) Milligan, all of California; one sister, Shirley (Ken) Stegner of Boonville; and three grandchildren, Samantha, Layne and Cooper Brandes. She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Milligan. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. Burial will be in Flag Springs Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Todd Kollbaum. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 12, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Bothwell Hospice, 3143 W. Broadway, Sedalia, MO 65301; Flag Springs Cemetery Fund or Benton County Cancer Society, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak, California, MO 65018. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.
