Sam Lewis Davis Sr., 69, of Jefferson City, departed this world on Monday, April 19, 2010, at his home in the presence of loved ones. Mr. Davis was born January 30, 1941, in Brownsville, Tennessee, to the union of Corine Neal and General Paul Davis. He moved to Detroit, Michigan as a young man, where he met and married Willie Mae Taylor, who survives him. Mr. Davis accepted Christ early in life and joined New Hope Baptist Church in Brownsville, Tennessee. He devoted over 40 years of his life to the food and beverage industry as a waiter. He enjoyed traveling and meeting people of various cultural backgrounds. Mr. Davis is survived by four sons: Donald Davis of Chicago, Illinois, Sam Davis of Memphis, Tennessee, Lamont Davis of Jefferson City, and Anthony Davis of Detroit, Michigan; one daughter: Andrea Davis of Jefferson City; two brothers: Cornelious Davis of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Willie Bradford of Champaign, Illinois; one sister: Eva Bradford of Chicago, Illinois; and nine grandchildren. Friends will be received from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 24, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Earnette Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Longview Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 W.
