Nurski defends Missouri Amateur title

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Brad Nurski defeated Brooks Jungbluth 3&1 on Sunday to claim the title at the 111th Missouri Amateur at Dalhousie Golf Course.

It's the third Missouri Amateur title for Nurski, who won it in 2010 and 2017.

The match was all square after the morning 18 holes. Jungbluth was 2-up on a couple of occasions before Nurski was able to tie the match on the 18th hole.

Nurski and Jungbluth both shot 67 in the morning round.

Nurski took his first lead of the day on the 25th hole, then took the lead for good on the 29th.

Nurski and Jungbluth are members of St. Joseph Country Club and are graduates of Bishop LeBlond High School.

Jungbluth, 18, won the MSHSAA Class 2 individual state title last month.
